The Gospel is simple, and it defines my entire life.
God, the Creator and Sustainer of this universe, is just, loving, and gracious with His creation. God demonstrated this in the most unimagineable, wonderful way when He looked on me in my hopeless, sinful, desperately wicked flesh, and despite that - because of it actually - He sacrificed His Son on my behalf. God sent His beloved and only Son to this wicked earth, wrapped in humanity - a baby. He lived, walked, talked an absolutely flawless life here on earth, exalting His Father in heaven and bringing glory to His name. Jesus, then willingly surrendered His life in a cruel and horrible death on a cross, in order to bear the just wrath of God for my sin. He bore the wrath and the punishment that I completely deserved. Jesus' death and His resurrection are testimony to His power over sin, and all who put their trust in Him, who call upon His name, and beg forgiveness of their sin, are pardoned completely and reconciled to God for all of eternity.
as it is written:
“None is righteous, no, not one."
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned—
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.”
For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
